This exhibition focuses on the extensive Japanese textile collection of Catherine Cerny spanning over 40 years of her travels, cultural exploration and technical study. The exhibition will show a rich tradition of design-making and exemplify unique techniques that continue to inform contemporary textile/fashion design and education. The exhibition design will evoke the vibrancy and bustle of a traditional Japanese market where many of the objects were originally purchased.
