Building Communities that Work: What Village Homes Can Teach Us Today
A Community Symposium
Building off the momentum from the “Village Homes: A Radical Plan” exhibition, UC Davis is hosting a half-day symposium, “Building Communities that Work: What Village Homes Can Teach Us Today,” on May 2. The event will feature conversations with scholars and practitioners from a variety of disciplines.
The day will include breakout sessions about today’s local, regional, and broader environmental and social concerns. This is a forward-looking, action-oriented symposium for community members, scholars, and students interested in building livable and sustainable communities. The event is free and includes a catered lunch.
The program begins at 9:30am with an Exhibition Preview, Village Homes: A Radical Plan, followed at 10am with opening remarks by author Kim Stanley Robinson with reflections and conversations among civic leaders, scholars, and audience.
