The Maria Manetti Shrem Institute for Sustainable Design, Fashion and Textiles hosts its second speaker in the Industry Seminar Series: Beth Esponnette, Cofounder, Chief Product Officer, and Chair of unspun. unspun is a US-based fashion company with technology in our veins and their mission is to reduce global human carbon emissions by 1% through automated, localized, and intentional manufacturing for apparel.

In her talk, 3D Weaving: Looking at Apparel Manufacturing Through a New Lens, Beth will share insights into how emerging technologies are transforming the future of sustainable apparel production. Drawing on her work at unspun, she will discuss the development of novel 3D weaving systems that integrate robotics and digital automation to enable localized, on-demand, and zero-waste garment manufacturing.
