Professor Darrin Martin and alum Torreya Cummings awarded Recology residencies
Recology San Francisco announced the recipients of their artist residencies for 2023 and Professor Darrin Martin and alum Torreya Cummings have made the list. Six artists and collaboratives were selected: Craig Calderwood, Andrew Sungtaek Ingersoll, Sahar Khoury, Macro Waves (Robin Birdd David and Jeffrey Yip) in addition to Darrin Martin and Torreya Cummings (B.A., ‘99).
The Artist in Residence Program at Recology San Francisco is an art and education program that provides Bay Area artists with access to discarded materials, a stipend, and a large studio space at the Recology San Francisco Transfer Station. During each four-month residency, two artists or collaboratives work in on-site studios and scavenge in the Public Reuse and Recycling Area for materials to make a body of work. Public exhibitions are held at the end of each residency.
