Since graduating from UC Davis in 2025, alum Sophie Warnock has been working with Santa Cruz Shakespeare on two touring productions. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is an all-ages-friendly version of the classic comedic play, while Romeo and Juliet is a bilingual spin fit for older students.

Beyond acting, Warnock helped to devise Romeo and Juliet, including translating parts of the play into Spanish. Her hope is to make Shakespeare more accessible to students in schools all over California, and she’s been having lots of fun collaborating with her talented cast members.

“I am so happy to get to use the skills I learned at UC Davis’ amazing theatre department,” said Warnock.  

Though not a theatre major, she appeared in several UC Davis productions including Small Mouth Sounds.
