In 2024 alum Mengyuan “Mia” Qin (B.A., theatre and dance, ‘20) has served as a production assistant on the Broadway musical Maybe Happy Ending which has been nominated for ten 2025 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical. 

This was Qin’s second time working on Broadway. Previously she was a production assistant on the 2023 musical Shucked. More recently she worked off-Broadway including productions at the New York Public Theatre and New York Theatre Workshop.

Qin received her MFA in stage management from Columbia University’s School of the Arts in 2023.

While at UC Davis, Qin was stage manager for Peter and the Starcatcher and worked in various capacities on Paper or Plastic; The Threepenny Opera; Ranked A New Musical; Jane Eyre; {LOVE/Logic}; Flora the Red Menace; Everybody-Nobody; Gypsy; 7 Brides for 7 Brothers; The Bluest Eye; Gibraltar; The 39 Steps; Collaborative Stage; and Pippin. She also directed Cha Jiu Lun in 2020.
