“Thanks to Hank,” a documentary film by Professor Bob
Ostertag, will be screened at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco
on June 27 at 4:15 p.m.
The film is a loving tribute to the life and work of Hank Wilson,
a man who radically altered LGBTQ+ life and rights in the Bay
Area. “Thanks to Hank” is an impactful and informative glimpse of
history marked by Wilson’s uncompromising vision, activism, and
organizing.
Composer, performer, instrument builder, journalist, activist,
historian, kayak instructor—Bob Ostertag’s work cannot easily be
summarized or pigeonholed. He has published 21 CDs of music, 2
films, and 3 books, and appeared at music, film, and multimedia
festivals around the globe.
