This captivating survey of footwear from the UC Davis Design Collection takes you on a global journey from as far away as Iran and India; to as close to home as Davis; and to many places in between. Ranging from the functional to the flamboyant, footwear provides a fascinating insight into different world cultures, and the obsession we have for how we adorn our feet.

This unique exhibition, researched and created in collaboration with UC Davis Design students, draws on over 70 pairs of shoes from the 19th century to the present, that are in the Design Collections extensive archives of over 5,000 historic design-related artifacts.
