Discussion of the Book to Film Adaptation of Helon Habila’s “CHIBOK GIRLS”
Nigerian author Helon Habila, recipient of the 2015 Windham-Campbell Literature Prize, will participate in a workshop discussing the film adaptation of his 2016 book, “Chibok Girls, and the Events Behind #bringbackoutgirls” by Branwen Okpako, associate professor of Cinema and Digital Media.
The event will be March 13 at 2:15 p.m. in Art Annex, Room 107, and moderated by Moradewun Adejunmobi, professor African American and African studies.
The workshop is sponsored by the Departments of African American and African Studies, Cinema and Digital Media and Theatre and Dance’s Performance Studies Graduate Program and the Davis Humanities Institute.
