Congratulations to Julia Rigby (MFA 2020) on being selected to participate in the exhibition “MFA Now 2019!” This exhibition is a biennial juried show and archive publication sponsored by Root Division that features the works of MFA candidates at 9 of the top Bay Area institutions, including California College of the Arts, Mills College, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, Stanford University, and University of California, Berkeley, University of California, Davis, and University of California, Santa Cruz.

Now in its sixth iteration, the MFA Now project provides a platform for looking at Bay Area artists and institutions in order to promote dialogue between programs and to archive current art-making practices and models. This year’s exhibition will be juried by Maria Jenson, Executive Director, SOMArts.

Also, Rachel Smith (MFA 2020) will be participating in the MFA Now 2019 Slide Slam, Rachel, along with 12 new MFAs, will introduce their work for 5 minutes on Thursday, March 14 from 6:30-8:30.
