Art Studio, part of the Department of Art and Art History at UC
Davis, offers B.A. and M.F.A. degrees in Studio Art.
The Art Studio program is designed to deliver a broad range of
hands-on studio practices to the art major. Areas of focus
include painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, ceramics,
printmaking, and time-based media. Students are encouraged to
explore a broad range of disciplines and are expected to take
advantage of beginning classes which provide a critical
introduction to the research possibilities within the major. In
addition to studio classes, students may participate in a
distinguished visiting artist lecture series, professional
practice seminars, student exhibitions, competitions and

Art Studio Program has teaching facilities for drawing, ceramic
sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, video, and
sculpture. Each of our facilities has technical staff on site to
support instructional activities and provide training with

The Art Studio Program also offers numerous public events,
including our Visiting Artist Lecture Series and The Thiebaud

The Art Building is located on Hutchison Drive, about halfway
between the Memorial Union and Mrak Hall on the UC Davis campus.
There is limited parking behind the building, but there is
visitor parking nearby, across the Arboretum in lot VP5.
