The Film Festival at UC Davis celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. In honor of the milestone, the festival will be held over three nights opening on May 28 in 1002 Cruess Hall.
For our 25th Anniversary, the festival committee has opened the event to include submissions from UC Davis alumni from all years and films by current students at all UC campuses and Northern California colleges and universities!
For 24 years, the Film Festival at UC Davis has showcase films that are eight minutes or less and have been created by undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates in a variety of genres and styles, from narrative to documentary to experimental, with a different program each evening. In addition, the festival honors short original screenplays.
The 2025 festival features a different program of films each night. Doors open at 6 p.m. and screenings begin at 7 p.m. The event is free and attendees must register in advance at the link above.
The festival is May 28, 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. and is open to all. DFS, a Davis Filmmaking Society (a student club) will co-sponsor the May 30 screening.

Established in 2000 in the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance, the festival was founded by students involved in filmmaking (with other departments joining later). Alumni filmmakers have gone on to submit works to numerous regional film festivals.
The festival is co-produced by the UC Davis departments of Art and Art History, Cinema and Digital Media, Design, Music, and Theatre and Dance, which are part of the College of Letters and Science.
