M.F.A. spring break in New York City
Professor Darrin Martin and the second-year M.F.A. students spent their spring break in New York City visiting artist studios and galleries. On this year’s agenda: Rodney Ewing, David Brooks, Usagi, Smack Mellon, New Museum (to see the Wangechi Mutu show), Island Gallery (where they saw Jesse Genepi’s (M.F.A., ’21) painting in their show “Black Lodge”), Foxy Productions, Silke Lindner gallery, The High Line (and met up with Cecilia Almani again), Dinner Gallery, Katharine Bedford, Julia Elsas (M.F.A., ’09), Katherine Vetne, Art Cake, Anthony Viti, The Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation (for a tour by Bang Geul Han of her show “Land of Tenderness”), the Whitney Museum, and a screening and discussion lead by Darrin at EAI ((Mis)Reading the Image: Selections by Darrin Martin).
