The Department of Art and Art History at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a lecturer position in Art Studio to teach an Upper Division class in Video Animation, during the Spring quarter of the 2024-2025 academic year. Service dates: 3/27/25-6/12/25. A lecturer teaches a three-hour studio class twice a week and holds regular office hours.

These classes introduce and instruct students in the techniques of video art animation along with the historical and conceptual background necessary for contemporary practice at all levels of undergraduate teaching. These courses should integrate practical skills with conceptual foundations in a way that takes advantage of the instructor’s strengths, interests and background. Applicants should be artists with professional practices and expertise in the field of video. Qualifications include an MFA or the equivalent, 3 years college/university level teaching experience beyond the TA level, expertise in the discipline and experience teaching Video Animation. Candidates with diverse viewpoints, backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.
