TEMPORARY LECTURER POSITION IN THE ART STUDIO PROGRAM UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT DAVIS
The Department of Art and Art History at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for a lecturer position in the Art Studio Program to teach Art 101, Intermediate Painting, in the Spring Quarter of 2015. A lecturer teaches a three-hour studio class twice a week and holds regular office hours for his or her students.
Art 101 incorporates individualized projects exploring color and space in a variety of subject matter and approaches. The course builds on basic skills and concepts from beginning drawing and painting courses. The course integrates the study of historical and contemporary art necessary for contemporary practice. The course should integrate practical skills with conceptual foundations in a way that takes advantage of the instructor’s strengths, interests and background. Qualifications include an active exhibition record in painting, an MFA and teaching experience beyond the TA level.

This is a non-tenured, temporary position: the appointments to the title of Lecturer are self-terminating (no further notice on non-reappointment will be forthcoming) and do not create an obligation on the part of the University either to extend or renew the appointment outlined above. Any reappointment will be preceded by an assessment.
