Terry Berlier in “Project Room”
Terry Berlier (MFA 2003) will participate in the group exhibition
“Project Room” at Locust Projects.
February 28 to April 18, 2015
Sounding Room is a meeting place in which sound, object, and
gesture form a multi-layered and visceral experience for the
viewer. It is a collaborative project conceived both as an
environment of sculptural works created to produce abstract
sounds and a series of performances that physically activate
objects within a traditional art exhibition. Sounding
Room at Locust Projects brings together artists from both
East and West coasts that find points of intersection amongst
their practices in a series of curated events.
In a series of three performances, Felecia Chizuko Carlisle and
Valerie George, the organizers and co-founders of the project,
will be joined by a selected group of 8 other artists. Each event
will be recorded for the Nam June Psyche Archive, a project
Valerie George began in 2010 to document experimental sound
projects across the US. A selection of these recordings
will also be printed on vinyl to document the first exhibition at
Locust Projects.
