Professor Darrin Martin in solo show at Recology
Professor Darrin Martin’s Artist in Residence Program at Recology San Francisco culminates with an exhibition titled “Past Life Resonance.” In this solo show, Martin explores the possibilities of tuning in to everyday things and surroundings and the resonances embedded in the things we have thrown away.
Joined by fellow residents Macro Waves and student resident Jake Shapiro, “Past Life Resonance” will be on view on Friday, September 15 from 5-8 pm and Saturday, September 16 from 12-3 pm. Admission is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome and the site is wheelchair accessible.
Martin’s residency runs from June to September and culminates in an exhibition on view Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16, and Tuesday, September 19.
The Artist in Residence Program at Recology San Francisco is an art and education program that provides Bay Area artists with access to discarded materials, a stipend, and a large studio space at the Recology San Francisco Transfer Station. During each four-month residency, two artists or collaboratives work in on-site studios and scavenge in the Public Reuse and Recycling Area for materials to make a body of work. Public exhibitions are held at the end of each residency.
