Pardee and Werfel Featured in Coast to Coast
Works by Professors of Art Hearne Pardee and Gina Werfel will be featured in “Coast to Coast,” an exhibition opening at the Paul Thiebaud Gallery in San Francisco on Sept. 26. The show highlights works by New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, West Coast Alumni Association.
Curated by Karen Wilkin who participated in the 2017 Betty Jean and Wayne Thiebaud Endowed Lecture, the exhibition features works by 25 artists including Pardee and Werfel. There is an opening reception on Sept. 26 6-8 p.m. The show runs through Oct. 26 at 645 Chestnut Street in San Francisco.
“New York Studio School students come from all over the world and settle in many different places after they complete their studies in the School’s historic 8th Street building,” said Wilkin. ”Last year, an exhibition organized by the West Coast chapter of the NYSS, held in San Francisco, showcased the varied approaches of alumni resident in California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii. This year, thanks to the generosity of Berry Campbell Gallery and Paul Thiebaud Gallery, an expanded version of this idea celebrates the achievements of NYSS alumni living on the West Coast or from there, but living elsewhere.”
