Second-year M.F.A. candidate Whitney Vangrin will take part in the launch of LAB Gallery in San Francisco and France during the Foresight Institute’s Vision Weekend 2021.  Vangrin has contributed an NFT that will be exhibited and auctioned at LAB Gallery during the start of Vision Weekend on December 4-5, and again at the commencement on December 11-12 in France at the Castle of Fey in Burgundy.

LAB Gallery will be an ongoing digital gallery pairing artists and scientists with the goal of inspiring interest in science through art. Through the purchase of NFTs, collectors become direct patrons of a scientist and fund cutting-edge research.

Vangrin’s NFT, “Philatory Grown,” is part of the collection “Creative Nature of Total Synthesis” whose works look closely at the concept of organically synthesizing and designing life. In addition to Vangrin, this inaugural auction includes artists Jonathan Monhagan, Solimán López, Drew Berry and Baron Lanteigne, and supports scientists Jean Hebert, Daniel Ives, and Emil Kendziorra.
