Major Adam Wever-Glen in 2019 AXA Art Prize Exhibition
A work by Art Studio major Adam Wever-Glen has been selected by the 2019 AXA Art Prize exhibition jury and is under consideration for either first or second prize.
The jury consisting of Ian Alteveer of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jennie Goldstein of the Whitney Museum, Cara Manes of MoMA, and Massimiliano Gioni of the New Museum has selected Wever-Glen’s “Blue Dream,” 2018, as a contender for the fall 2019 final evaluation.
The AXA Art Prize, formerly the XL Catlin Art Prize, shines a spotlight on the re-emergence of figurative art in the contemporary art world. The AXA Art Prize is comprised of three exhibitions, taking place in San Francisco, Chicago and New York, and a printed catalogue, all designed to showcase the finalists’ work. The contest provides a unique platform for new artistic talent and gives the next generation of figurative artists the perfect forum in which to launch their careers.
