Graduate Fellowship Exhibition features alum Bailey Anderson
“Believe Only the Caravan’s Trace,” the 2020 Graduate Fellowship Exhibition At Headlands Center for the Arts, features seven recent MFA graduates from around the Bay Area, including UCD’s Bailey Anderson (MFA ‘20). Curated by Yomna Osman, “Believe Only the Caravan’s Trace” includes the works of Kira Dominguez Hultgren (California College of Arts), Sarah Player Morrison (Mills College), Sherwin Rio (SF Art Institute), Daniel Southward (SF State University), Livien Yin (Stanford University), Connie Zheng (UC Berkeley) and Anderson.
“Like many artists before them, the Fellows arrived at Headlands with curiosity, and in its magical landscape, they followed their curiosities individually and collectively. But the disruptions that will define this year began bending and stretching their time. Already asking timely questions, their artworks didn’t need to change to address those disruptions. Their new bodies of work tell seven important stories at a global moment of transition. This agility attests to the authenticity and thoughtfulness at the center of each project. Their work echoes what art does best, using the traces of the past to represent a different version of history, and to imagine multiple futures.” — Yomna Osman
This show is open by appointment for in-person viewing, November 12 – December 13, 2020 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 12-5pm (closed Thanksgiving weekend).
