Exhibition

Deadline: 11:59pm
Art History 102 curated exhibition

Art History 102 students announce the opening of their exhibition “Deadline: 11:59pm.”

“Deadline 11:59pm” addresses the mental health of students as a pressing campus issue here at UC Davis and some of the interrelated conditions that undermine, rather than protect, a student’s mental health. The exhibition aims to bridge the gap for seeking care by making more accessible mental health resources here on campus and offering a platform to anonymously voice students’ concerns and frustrations about their mental health. Ultimately, “Deadline:11:59pm” is a collective call to the UC Davis community and administration that there needs to be a deadline for UC Davis to establish the conditions that will ensure the mental well-being of all.

“Deadline:11:59pm” is on view at the Memorial Union on Tuesday, Mar. through Tuesday, Mar. 21, and at the Katharine Esau Science Hall.

Students will hold a curatorial walk through on Thursday, Mar. 16 at 11:15 at the MU.

Art History 102, led by Professor Susette Min, is an exhibition practicum in which students are responsible for producing a public exhibition. Students develop exhibition proposals, curate, engage in object selection and installation, and general design and lighting of the exhibition location. Additionally, students are responsible for producing and publishing promotional materials.

“Appetite for Change,” another curated exhibition by AHI 102 students, is now on view at the MU.
