The new Manetti Shrem Museum exhibition, “Wayne Thiebaud Influencer: A New Generation,” celebrates Thiebaud’s contributions and impact on the local and national art community. In particular, the exhibition features numerous Art Studio alum whose careers and artistic philosophies were formulated by the teaching of Wayne Thiebaud.
Alums featured in the show are Julie Bozzi (BA ‘74, MFA ’76), Christopher Brown (MFA ’76), Richard Crozier (MFA ’74), April Glory Funcke (BA ‘87, MFA ’89), Grace Munakata (BA ’80, MFA ’85), Bruce Nauman (MA ’66), Vonn Cummings Sumner (BA ’98, MFA ’00), Ann Harrold Taylor (MFA ’85), Michael Tompkins (BA ’81, MFA ’83), and Patricia Wall (BA ’72).
