The art of alum Terry Peterson (MFA 2012) will be featured in Sacramento’s artspace1616 from Jan. 12 through March 2.

The artist reception will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 6 to 9pm. Gallery hours Thursday to Saturday 12 to 6pm Sunday 12 to 3pm.

Through the reoccurring image of a fish, Peterson continues to explore transformation, impermanence, and the life cycle.  A process that began several years ago when Terry started to document the decay of a cadaver, has expanded and took a journey of its own. In an immensely detailed record keeping of decay, Peterson creates a narrative of life. The synthesis of technology and organic elements creates a dynamic reality reminiscent of pseudoscientific experiments.

A UC Davis alumnus, Peterson works as Professor of Sculpture at Sacramento City College.
