In conjunction with the exhibition “Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America,” Professor Shiva Ahmadi will join curator La Vaughn Belle in a dialogue on equality, free speech, and democracy. This event is the next installment of the Rising Sun Artist/Curator series, Multiple Suns Part II organized by the African American Museum in Philadelphia.

“Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America” is a collaborative effort by the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts to present an exhibition of new works examining the provocative and timely question: “Is the sun rising or setting on the experiment of American democracy?” Professor Shiva Ahmadi is among the 20 artists participating in the installation which runs through Dec. 31. 

Multiple Suns Part II is scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. (EST) at the African American Museum in Philadelphia but will also be livestreamed.
