Robert Machoian at the Tribeca Film Festival
Alum Robert Machoian’s (MFA 2010) film “When She Runs” will be showing at the Tribeca Film Festival this year.
Machoian and his collaborator Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck have premiered at the Sundance, SXSW, and Locarno film festivals, among other film festivals. They were included in Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” in 2010. In 2016, their feature, “God Bless the Child,” won the Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and was nominated for the Cinema Eye Honors and Film Independent Spirit Awards’ Kiehl’s Someone to Watch prize.
“When She Runs” is about a runner, Kristen, unable to shake her dreams of competing in the Olympic Games, and her sacrifices —including precious time with her husband and their young son—to pursue her passion.
