Professor Martin publishes article in Leonardo
In collaboration with the nonprofit video arts distributor Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI), Professor Darrin Martin has published an article reflecting on his efforts to examine the EAI archive for videos exploring themes of disability or that engage modes of access like captioning and audio description. This is Martin’s first attempt to review an archive for representations of disability and alternative modes of access with the intent of laying a groundwork for curations that tap into possibilities within accessibility formats.
“Experimental Modalities: Crip Representation and Access with Electronic Arts Intermix” is published Leonardo: Criptech and the Art of Access special issue (MIT Press, Volume 57, Issue 2, April 2024). The article is available on open source here.
