Professor Burnett participates in Global Tea Conference
Professor Katharine Burnett recently attended the Global Tea Conference at the University of VIrginia where she participated in the Tea and Material/Visual Culture session to discuss “Teapots Shaped by Cultural Forces: 17th-Century Art Theory and Innovative Yixing Teapot Design.”
The UC Davis’s Global Tea Institute, of which Professor Burnett is the Founding Director, was a co-sponsor of the conference. Scholars from across the US, including three from the Global Tea Institute, came together to explore tea in culture, science, society and health in a forum modeled after UC Davis’s Global Tea Institute’s annual colloquium.
