Helia Pouyanfar (M.F.A., ‘22) has published a limited edition art photography book titled Once, in passing. Images, taken between the ages of 16 to 19 when the artist lived as a refugee in Turkey, document Helia’s travels during mandatory U.N. interviews, and check-points and borders. Her images and prose investigate the permanently transient state of a refugee body and its negotiation and reconciliation with place.
