Art Faculty and Alumni Support Pence Gallery Art Auction

UC Davis faculty and alumni are among the artists who have contributed works to the annual Pence Gallery Art Auction which due to the pandemic is online this year through Sept. 26.

Faculty artists include Professors Hearne Pardee and Gina Werfel, Associate Young Suh and Lecturer Bryce Vinourov from the Department of Art and Art History. Also Professor Emeritus Malaquias and the late Roy de Forest, professor emeritus, are represented in the auction.

Work by numerous Art Studio alumni is featured including Jose Arenas, Richard Crozier, Chris Daubert, Mark Emerson, Kurt Fishback, Tony Natsoulas, Michael Radin and Peter Vandenberge. Art contributed by a number of our alumni with B.As is featured including work by Heidi Bekebrede, Kristine Bybee, Andre Janitsky, Jamie Madison and Maryann Steinert-Foley.

The auction also includes work by staff members including ceramicist Jill VanZanten, English instructor with Davis Extension, and sketcher and water colorist Pete Scully, manager services officer Department of Economics, who has had a solo exhibition in the UC Davis Design Museum in 2016.

The Pence Gallery in the heart of downtown Davis, California is a not-for-profit art gallery. The gallery’s mission is to serve the community through offering high caliber art exhibits, supporting the development of local and regional artists including faculty and alumni from UC Davis, and providing educational programs to visitors of all ages.
