The new two-person show“Neighbors” at Et. al. features textile wall works by Daniel Arthur Mendoza (B.A. ‘13) and ceramic, metal and foam sculptures by Daniel Alejandor Trejo (B.A., art history and art studio, ‘13). 

Both artists and the curator Justin Mata share a friendship as well as other overlapping connections: all are from the Sacramento area, of Mexican-American background, and have an interest in how the notion of community and representation present themselves in their work. In “Neighbors,” the artists and curator address the questions “What does it mean to be someone’s neighbor? Can we still be good neighbors with each other?”
