Alum in solo show at Marrow Gallery
“Often I am Permitted to Return to a Meadow,” the new solo
exhibition by Mercy Hawkins (M.F.A., ‘21), opens at the Marrow
Gallery in San Francisco.
Hawkins’ wall hangings and sculptures reference Robert
Duncan’s metaphorical meadow in his poem Often I am
Permitted to Return to a Meadow “as if it were a scene
made-up by the mind, that is not mine, but is a made place, that
is mine….”
On view from Oct. 4 – Oct. 28 with an opening reception on Sunday, Oct. 14 from 5-7 p.m.
