Alum Luka Vergoz’s (M.F.A., ‘23) solo show ”Forming, here, again” opens Oct. 10 at the Third Space Art Collective in Davis. Organized by DART Magazine and curated by another UC Davis alum Yuchen Hou (B.A., art studio, ‘25), ”Forming, here, again” is on view to Nov. 3 with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10, 6-9 p.m.

Vergoz works with discarded scraps and byproducts of construction, which he then reshapes and rearranges into patterns, forms, and structures. For Vergoz, “All matter used to be something else before it was this and will become something else after it’s done being this. All making is unmaking.” Now working in Oakland, Vergoz returns to Davis for this show and to reflect on the exhibition’s central question: if places once left behind and past experiences are themselves discarded materials, what new forms can emerge when we gather and reshape them?
