“Shifting Sands,” an exhibition co-curated by alum Hedwig Brouckaert (MFA ‘05), Ghislaine Sabiti and Yvette Molina, celebrates the many different cultures and backgrounds found in NYC. 

All the artists featured are from the New York Foundation for the Arts 2020 IAP (Immigrant Artist Program). Each of these artists has crossed physical borders, leaving one part of the world for another - in doing so, holding space for various identities and shifting realities. From this common experience emerges unique perspectives on identity, belonging, home, memory, hope and resilience. Opening day is Friday May 14 from 3-8pm. “Shifting Sands” is on view May 14 to June 10, 2021 with a closing event on June 10 from 6-8 pm.
