Alum featured in “Bold Women” exhibition
“Bold Women,” a group show at Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas features alum Hong Zhang’s (M.F.A. ‘04) large-scale drawings.
“Bold Women” is an expansive exhibition that presents the visionary work of women artists. The show emphasizes the essential contributions of artists from diverse backgrounds, especially women of color, LGBTQ+ artists, and artists of intersecting identities. Included in the show is one of Zhang’s large Tornado drawings from 2012 and exhibited for the first time in public, alongside two new large-scale drawings made with Chinese ink on Italian fabric and each each 5ft x 17ft and double sided.
“Bold Women” is on view from Feb. 18-July 6, 2025.
