Alum in exhibition at The Cheech Center
Alum Emmanuel Camacho Larios (B.A. ‘23) has co-curated and is featured in the exhibiton Desde los Cielos (From the Heavens at The Cheech Center Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture. This exhibition features fifteen Inland Empire artists who use the concept of alienness to explore personal and communal identities that defy societal norms. Curators Camacho Larios and Perry Picasshoe highlight a diverse range of works—paintings, textiles, sculptures, photographs, video installations, and more—each reimagining “alien” as a metaphor for transformation, empowerment, and self-reclamation.
Featured artists include Emmanuel Camacho Larios, Gabriela Díaz, César García, Stephanie Godoy, Mariah Green, Faustino Larios, Yulissa Mendoza, Josué E. Muñoz, Perry Picasshoe, Verónica Preciado, Briar Rosa, Cam Santa Anna, Alexa Vázquez, Jessie Welch, and Mayra Zambrano.
