Axis Gallery’s 19th National Juried Exhibition “Am I Home?” features a new work by recent graduate and alum Elaine Nguyen (M.F.A. ‘24).

Juror Kelly Linder explores the concept of home in this show featuring 27 artists. “Am I Home?” delves into ideas of self, community, migration, displacement and belonging. As a graduate student in the M.F.A. program, Elaine’s work often explored the fluidity of identity and the search for home as a foreigner. In this exhibiton, her video “Jade: Protection & Permanence” (2024) continues this journey in a video that  reveals intimate moments of family, domesticity, and ritual.
