Alum awarded residency at Recology AIR
Alum Helia Pouyanfar (M.F.A. ‘22) has been awarded a residency in the Recology 2025 Artist in Residence (AIR) Program. Helia’s residency runs from June-September 2025 and will culminate with an exhibition Sept. 12, 13 and 16, 2025.
The four-month residency provides an immersive environment for artists to develop their practice while engaging with sustainability and community outreach. Artists gain to access materials from the Public Reuse and Recycling Area, work in an on-site studio, and speak with tour groups, creating meaningful opportunities to raise awareness about the transformative potential of creative reuse. At the end of the residency, artists host a public exhibition and artist talk.
Previous UC Davis participants of the AIR program include Professor Darrin Martin (recipient in 2023), alums Torreya Cummings (B.A. ‘99 and 2023 resident in Recology), Terry Berlier (M.F.A. ’03, resident in 2011), Josh Short (M.F.A. ‘09, resident in 2010).
