Alum Lauz Bechelli (B.A., ‘10) is stepping in as interim director at the Visual Arts Center (VAC) at the University of Texas at Austin. Bechelli received her M.F.A. in Painting from the Department of Art and Art History at the UT Austin in 2020, and has extensive experience working with small non-profit art organizations and directly with artists. She maintains a painting practice and teaches painting at UT Austin. Prior to joining the VAC, Bechelli worked as Interim Gallery Director for the Austin non-profit gallery, Women and Their Work.
