Michelle Kang Lucas
M.A. Art History
Michelle is a multicultural first generation college student who graduated from CSUS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and a minor in Asian Studies in the spring of 2024. Her primary focuses entailed Cross Cultural Interactions between Greek and Roman art and the religious hybridity of Paganism and Christianity, along with research and visual theory in the depictions of Fayum Mummy portraits and the relationship between Egyptian and Roman funerary art. Her research and written work in Asian Studies focuses on hyphenated Asian American experiences, cross cultural interaction between Eastern and Western Impressionism, Ukiyo-e, housing architecture in connection to hierarchical socio-economic standards in Japan and South Korea, Contemporary Asian Women artists and East Asian cinema.
