Inside & Out
3rd Annual Art History Graduate Colloquium
The Art History graduate students announce their 3rd Annual Art History Graduate Colloquium “Inside & Out: Architectural Space and Construction of Self.”
Architecture is a fundamental component in both the construction of physical environments and the shaping of individual subjectivities. From the more intimate scale of interior spaces to the broader context of urban landscapes, the built environment profoundly influences how we understand and navigate the world, as well as how we negotiate and articulate our identities. This colloquium invites graduate students to critically explore the relationship between architectural space and the formation of selfhood, considering how built environments might shape, reflect, and challenge individual and collective identities.
Friday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. in Sproul Hall 912
Organized by Hattie Insco (M.A. art history ‘25)
