Professor Michael Yonan recently presented a paper titled “Modernism is a Cat” at the symposium Animal Modernities: Images, Objects, Histories 1750–1900, held at Dartmouth College on Oct. 13, 2022.

The essay is part of a project on cats in artists’ studios that he is co-writing with Amy Freund, Southern Methodist University.
