Graduate student presents paper at street art conference
Graduate student Srđan Tunić (M.A., ‘23) will present a paper at the Ljubljana Street Art Festival conference this coming June 28-29 in Slovenia. Srđan’s paper will be presented as part of Panel 1: Political Peripheries of Street Art. His paper, entitled ”F*** Gays Homophobia! Queering Street Art & the Adventures of Inspector Yoda the Wrinkled,” will also be streamed on YouTube on Tuesday, June 28 from 10:45-11 (Central European Time zone). His paper looks at queer artivism in Belgrade street art during 2010s, specifically looking at a little stenciled pug called Inspector Yoda the Wrinkled (Inspektor Yoda Zgužvani) that began appearing in the streets of Belgrade promoting anti-hate and pro-trans and queer commentary.
Srđan, who is from Belgrade, Serbia, is a co-founder of Street Art Walks Belgrade (STAW BLGRD) and a member of Street Art Belgrade. He has published several texts on graffiti and street art, in Belgrade and Podgorica, covering ecology, history, and queer and social artivism.
