Graduate student publishes article

Graduate student Sienna Weldon (M.A., ‘23) has published an article developed from her work this past summer as the Summer Research and Interpretation Curatorial Fellow at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Her article “Memento Matamoe: Representing Death in Colonial Tahiti” is published in Vistas: A Journal of Art, History, Science, and Culture (Fall/Winter Vol.1 Issue 1) and explores evolving Western ideas of Oceania by taking a close look at representations of funerary practices.
