Thomas Ivy is currently in his third year at UC Davis; this is his second season with the Symphony, having been in the Concert Band last year. He is a mechanical engineering major, and plans to complete a music minor. Tom has been playing the clarinet since the fourth grade and has participated in everything from orchestras to concert bands to jazz bands; he went to Hawaii with the Menlo-Atherton Jazz Band and to Poland and Germany with the El Camino Youth Symphony. He also studies privately, currently with Ann Lavin, and has participated in solo festivals and performances.

Besides engineering and playing music, Tom enjoys listening to classic rock music, reading, tinkering, playing video games and eating good food.
