Rachel Baek is a Sophomore at Davis Senior High School. She started cello at the young age of 8. She promptly chose cello out of the many stringed instruments because of the deep warm sound it was able to produce. Ever since, cello has been one of her top priorities. The very first orchestral group she joined was the Sacramento Youth Symphony. This is where she developed a love for a full symphony. From then on, Baek participated in the California All-State Symphony 2011 the past year, and is a current member of the Davis High School Symphony.

she also enjoys chamber music and is an active member of the Trubaek Quartet, Kaleidoscope Quartet, and the Beethoven Trio. Outside of the musical realm, she she loves to read, hang out with friends and color.
