Keyboard Festival: Bach Harpsichord Concerti Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center
Featuring current and former members of the UC Davis and Davis
Senior High School Baroque Ensembles, with Phebe Craig, Michael
Sand, and Angelo Moreno, directors. The program features both
J.S. Bach’s concerto for two and four harpsichords.
Also on the program are Forqueray’s Pièces de
clavecin, with Emma Gavenda, harpsichord, and
Bach’s Toccata and Fugue from Partita VI, BWV 830, with John
Yeh, harpsichord.
Sand plays with the chamber ensemble Musical Assembly, is
director of the New York State Baroque, and appears with many Bay
Area early music groups. He has recorded for Meridian, Harmonia
Mundi (France and the U.S.), Arts and Music, KATastroPHE,
Wildboar, and Titanic.
