Alum Helia Pouyanfar (M.F.A., ‘22) has been awarded a 2024 Berkeley Civic Arts “Individual Artists Projects Grant” for her proposal to construct a public multimedia/video installation. This project, which is expected to be completed over the next year, will explore ideas of migration and time. 

Helia has also received a Kala Art Institute 2023-2024 Fellowship and Special Program Award. During her nine month fellowship set to begin in August, Helia will focus on multiple photography and printmaking projects which will culminate in an exhibition at Kala Gallery.
