Sparking Innovation and Creativity: Human-Centered Design
Ari Kelman, interim dean, College of Letters and Science, will moderate a presentation on design for the UC Davis Plugged In Virtual Event Series on Jan. 13 at 4 p.m.
The discussion, “Sparking Innovation and Creativity: Human-Centered Design,” features three faculty members of the Department of Design: Assistant Professor Gozde Goncu-Berk, Assistant Professor Thomas Maiorana, and Associate Professor Brett Snyder.
The innovative faculty members will showcase their ground-breaking work. From developing wearable products for people with disabilities or chronic diseases to reimagining shipping containers as housing for lower-income families, the discussion will tackle the broader issues of waste, the human experience and climate change.
The event is free but advance registration is required. Please register here.
The UC Davis Department of Design has a very ambitious mission: to change this world for the better. As the only comprehensive design program in the UC system, the faculty and students seek to accomplish this goal in everything they do – from promoting sustainability, to solving real-world problems and addressing inequality in the industry.
