The Power of Red 2015
Designing for Heart Health

In 2010, the Department of Design entered into a unique partnership with the UC Davis Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program to campaign for women’s heart health awareness.

Events include Cocktails and Coutures, a benefit on February 28, hosted by Chancellor Katehi, with proceeds going to the Women’s Cardiovascular Medicine Program and the Department of Design. For more information about the benefit, use our link or contact Jean Wigglesworth at (530) 754-2011.

Find out about all of this year’s events in the Dateline article. Visit the UC Davis Red Dress collection on the Dept. of Internal Medicine’s website to learn more. The dresses, created by Design students working with faculty Adele Zhang, are currently on view on campus in the Design Museum’s Red Dress exhibit, until March 13.

UC Davis Wears Red Day was Friday, Feb. 6, when everybody was encouraged to come to Hutchison Field for the Battle Heart Disease Fair, 11–1 p.m., and to make a giant heart formation at noon. About 2,500 people — students, staff, faculty and community members — turned out for last year’s inaugural heart formation.
